Rugged All-Metal Proximity Sensor Detects  Iron and Aluminum at Long Distances

Up to 4X Distances of Previous Models

E2EW Proximity sensors can detect both iron and aluminum workpieces from equally long distances. This longer detection margin eliminates the need to change sensors when workpiece changes occur in the welding process.

E2EW Series Key Features

  • Robust full-metal housing
  • Longer sensing distances, up to the quadruple range
  • Enables common design for lines with both iron and aluminum
  • Laser printing of sensing distance on sensor face prevents replacement errors
  • Premium models types have the same sensing distances for iron and aluminum
  • IO-Link compatible
  • Clear 360 degree LED status indicator
  • Cable, QD connector, and pigtail connection models available
  • UL and CSA certification

High-brightness LED's provide 360 degree indication visibility no matter where the sensors are installed, allowing speedy installation regardless of sensor orientation

The sensing distance is laser-printed directly on the sensor face, making it easy to identify and helping reduce errors during sensor selection  or replacement. (for models without spatter-resistant coating)

Improve cable management with a pigtail QD design featuring Omron's Smartclick technology. Easily route cables to junction boxes, reduce wiring errors, and enable fast, sensor replacement.

OMRON's unique lock mechanism (Smartclick) that is compatible
with round M12 connectors. Simply insert the connectors, then turn them approximately 1/8 of a turn to lock.

Spatter Resistant Type

E2EW-Q Features Fluororesin coating for the sensor body. This coating film prevents the amount of spatter sticking to surface to approximately half of previous models. This unique coating also reduces abrasion from cleaning, reducing costly maintenance downtime. Last 60 times longer than previous OMRON models.

Applications

Sensing the passing of aluminum carrier at long distance with the E2EW increased sensing distance for both ferrous and non-ferrous targets

Positioning the target at a welding station using E2EW-Q with Fluororesin coating prevents spatter build-up
