Optimized Roll Control = improved quality and productivity
In roll-to-roll manufacturing, if there is a problem with the winding control, the sheet material will tear or meander, resulting in a cone-shaped roll of material that is unusable in the post-process.

Control of Meandering Sheet Material
The TD1 series transmission edge sensor controls the meandering of all sheet materials. Meandering during winding can cause quality abnormalities such as wrinkles and stretching in the sheet material. With the TD1, control in units of ±10µm is possible by using two sets. High precision edge position control can be performed to control meandering using the TD1 0.4% ±5 µm.

Measurement of Roller Gap
The TD1 series transmission edge sensor is the perfect choice for measuring the gap between rolling rollers. If the gap is too wide, the sheet will be too thick, and if it is too narrow, the sheet will be too thin. By controlling the gap, the sheet can be rolled to a constant thickness. In addition, by using the control output, it is possible to output an ON/OFF signal when the thickness is abnormal.
