Ramco Innovations is an Automation Solutions Provider (distributor) who has been in business since 1962. We sell technically applied products into the industrial marketplace. Ramco does business in Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, and Southern Illinois.

Job Summary:

The Inside Sales team is responsible for processing customer quotes and orders, disseminating information to various departments and arranging for the shipping of products to customers. Each Inside Sales Representative is assigned to a group of accounts to service in conjunction with the Outside Sales team. Additional responsibilities include funneling sales opportunities and ensuring pricing files are accurate on a daily basis.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Receives request for price quotations, purchase orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations directly from domestic customers, original equipment manufacturers, and distributors via telephone, email, fax and standard mail.
  • All unresolved matters and commitments must be followed-up daily, providing the customer with daily status updates as well. Proper notations must be made with status in the CRM.
  • All customers will receive an order confirmation from the Inside Sales rep once the order is entered with information regarding the shipping method and delivery dates as well as providing accurate lead times.
  • Achieves and maintains rapport with customers and works to exceed their expectations by providing the best possible service.
  • Utilize the CRM in order to update and maintain all customer account information.
  • Works closely with shipping and receiving regarding deliveries of scheduled shipments.
  • Makes price quotations immediately by phone on price book items with accurate delivery information.
  • Prepares formalized quotes as requested by Customers and Outside Sales the same day.
  • Checks with the Clerical/Accounting Department regarding credit concerns and status of customers when rush orders are received.
  • Monitors open order report to check on delivery times of product to ensure on-time delivery for customer orders.
  • Will attend Vendor training and Factory schools in order to maintain a high level of product and vendor knowledge.
  • Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications.
  • Process repairs and credits within 48 hours of receipt with accurate information.
  • Utilize cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sales items to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability.
  • Travel to customer sites to visit key customers in order to strengthen our business relationship (occasionally).
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 2-year degree preferable or equivalent training in an industrial setting
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, organized, energetic, and capable of staying cool under pressure.
  • Must have legible handwriting, Typing and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrate effective written, verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft, Excel, Word and Outlook preferred.
  • Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operator's license and maintain an approved motor vehicle record (MVR)

  • Variable work environment which includes both indoors and outdoors, in industrial, commercial and office settings with varying environmental conditions.
  • Exposure to the environment of customer facilities during on-site visits which may require wearing safety glasses, steel-toed boots, ear plugs and possibly a hardhat.
  • Up to several hours per day may be spent operating a motor vehicle traveling to customers sites, corporate office or factory training sometimes requiring overnight travel.
  • Appearance at all times must represent the company image.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50lbs.
  • Work under typical office conditions which may have fluorescent lighting and air conditioning and the noise level is moderately quiet.
  • Fast-paced environment: subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity.
  • Specific vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus. Possess the mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment.
  • Sitting in a normal seated position for an extended period of time.
  • Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
  • Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard, hand tools and testing equipment.
