Overview

The Shop Technician needs to interpret and work from electrical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams. This includes the physical layout, mounting and assembly of panel components and enclosures. The Shop Technician is responsible for maintaining an organized and orderly work area. Additional duties may include assisting with building repairs or warehouse operations.

Primary Duties

  • Perform electrical wiring, soldering, and crimping of electrical connections per electrical engineering drawings; schematics, wiring diagrams or wire lists.
  • Perform the physical layout, mounting and assembly of panel components and enclosures.
  • Assist with testing of panels to ensure Ramco’s quality standards.
  • Layout dimensions for mounting panel components.
  • Perform kitting of parts; combine multiple parts into one part as a kit for resale.
  • Control project materials from time of issuance to completion of the project.
  • Fabricate parts using tools such as: drill-press, bandsaw, chop-saw & hydraulic punch, etc.
  • Able and willing to learn and perform additional tasks that may be assigned.
  • Assist with maintenance/repair of Ramco facility and equipment.
  • Assist with warehouse operations when needed.

Safety-Related Duties

  • Understand and demonstrate safe shop equipment operating procedures.
  • Basic use and safe operation of hand and power hand tools.
  • Ensure area safety and cleanliness.
  • Maintain safety standards, policies, practices, and procedures in order to comply with laws and regulations and minimize accidents and injuries.


    Job Requirements

    • Computer skills to operate marker card machines and label makers.
    • Occasional work at client sites with minimal supervision
    • Ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
    • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
    • Self-motivated, results-oriented, organized, energetic, and capable of staying cool under pressure from multiple ongoing projects.
    • Read and comprehend basic English.
    • Ability to read tape measure.
    • Ability to read and understand panel assembly drawings.
    • Appearance at all times must represent the company image.
    • Demonstrate effective written, verbal and communication skills including legible handwriting, typing and data entry skills.
    • Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license and maintain an approved motor vehicle record (MVR).


    Working Conditions

    • Variable work environment which includes both indoors and outdoors, in industrial, commercial and office settings with varying environmental conditions.
    • Exposure to the environment of customer facilities during on site jobs which may require wearing safety glasses, ear plugs and possibly a hardhat.
    • Time may be spent operating a motor vehicle traveling to customer sites.
    • Occasional lifting of up to 50lbs.
